Gulf Coast ABA & Autism Services strives to help children with Autism, language, social skill deficits, and/or challenging behaviors to learn skills that will lead them to a better, happier life for themselves and their families. We specialize in children, ages three to fifteen, who are struggling with language, social skills, functional life skills, and/or behavior to achieve outcomes determined in conjunction with the family.

We believe that if the child is not learning we must change our teaching

how we do it

+ Virtual ABA Therapy

Our Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) works with parents who aren’t prepared for or equipped to meet their child’s special needs, but have the strong desire to see their child’s behavior improve so they can succeed. All caregiver training will be conducted virtually.

+ Home Assesments

The Behavior Analyst will develop an assessment to determine what factors are contributing to the behaviors, and what is motivating the child to engage in the negative behavior. When a parent/caregiver feels that the strategies aren’t working or the child’s negative behavior is “out of the blue” or when inconsistent or unsafe behavior patterns are occurring, an FBA will be required. An independent BCBA can help pinpoint the antecedents to the behaviors, or the patterns in behaviors, and develop a plan to manage the behaviors. Examples of functions of behaviors are: attention-seeking or those with an automatic function (such as echolalia, or stereotypy. In addition the Behavior Analyst will utilize existing Assessments targeting Language, community and functional life skills such as VB-MAPP (Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program), and AFLS (the Assessment of Functional Living Skills) when applicable.
